Final Broadcast Ratings: July 14, 2014
It was a very competitive Monday night, among the Big 4 networks. ABC, CBS and FOX were all within 200k in total viewers of each other, with FOX edging it out for the win. NBC and CBS tied for the lead of the A18-49 ratings, with a 1.4 each, and FOX nd ABC were on their heels, just two tenths of a ratings point of the top two.
Meanwhile, the CW had a tough time with the premiere of it's two now shows BACK PACKERS and SEED. Both show tanked in the ratings, losing big chuncks of their respective lead ins.
BACKPACKERS lost 60% of an original WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY?, while SEED dropped 30% from a deflated encore of the improve comedy, an hour later. Both shows are on the death watch and may suffer the same fate to equally troubbled FAMOUS IN 12.
24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY finished it's 12 episode season on an up note, posing it's best numbers of the season, since June 2nd. The ratings may not have been spectacular, but they should be good enough for FOX to try another 24 story in the future.
It looks like UNDER THE DOME has leveled off. The A18-49 ratings rose 11%, week-to-week, while total viewers were even. DOME was the #1 show of the night, in the demo ratings. It may have helped that CBS placed an encore episode of THE BIG BANG THEORY as it's lead in. We'll see if the numbers stay up, if the lead in changes.
