US Box Office Results: June 27 - 29, 2014

The fourth movie in the TRANSFORMERS franchise is the first movie of the year to gross $100 million in it's first weekend of release. It is the second best opening of the franchise, behind 2009's Revenge of the Fallen. Internationally, TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION brought in over $300 million, covering 37 international markets. That means the film has grossed nearly 50% more than it's $210 million production budget. Expect a fifth film within three years.

The four following film fought for the scraps, with 22 JUMP STREET getting over $15 million in it's third week.

THe #5 film, MALEFICENT, broke the $200 million domestic barrier this weekend, with it's $8.2 million gross, in week five of release.
