Primetime Cable Ratings: June 16, 2014
Despite dropping a half a million viewers, MAJOR CRIMES retained the #1 spot for the Monday night ratings. The TNT drama collected 4.6 million viewers, along with a 0.7 rating in Adults 18-49. The demo ratings were also off, by a measure of 22%, from last week. The series should settle in to the 4.5 to 5.0 million viewers each week. The demo ratings don't matter much to TNT.Week two of the new drama MURDER IN THE FIRST lost 860,000 viewers, but the demo ratings loss was just one tenth of a ratings point. The retention out of MAJOR CRIMES is a 63%, not a good sign of longevity for the crime series.
It was a strong night for cable TV Seven programs drew three million viewers, or more and nine of the top ten shows were cable original programs.
