Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 06/11/14
FOX and NBC battled it out for the top spot on Wednesday night. NBC was the clear victor in total viewers, collecting 5.4 million viewers, but FOX tied NBC for the A18-49 crown, with each scoring a 1.3 rating.
DATELINE's special on the OJ Simpson trial drew the most viewers on the night (6.2 million) and the highest A18-49 rating (1.4). It has been 20 years since the trial, but some viewers still can't get enough of the story.
Leading into DATELINE was the last two episodes of the comedy GROWING UP FISHER. Without any support, in the summer, in the 8 p.m. hour, the cancelled sitcom brought in 3.8 million viewers and a 0.9 rating in Adults 18-49. That is about as good as what PARKS & REC gets, during the regular season, with promotion. GROWING UP FISHER was a fun sitcom, with a great cast. This may be a mistake by NBC by ending it after just a handful of episodes.
On FOX, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE hauled in 4.3 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49. Week-to-week, it is down 9% in viewership and 13% in the demo. And, since the season premiere, the series has lost 19% in both total viewers and the A18-49 ratings. It may not be long before SYTYCD will draw under a 1.0 in the demo ratings and below 3.5 million viewers.
The season finale of THE 100 drew it's average sine the regular season ended, getting 1.7 million viewers and a 0.6 demo rating. This may be one of the more solid new series, for the CW, since ARROW premiered back in 2012.
