Final Broadcast Ratings: June 5, 2014
Game on of the NBA Finals dominated the night, collecting a "HOT" 14,9 million viewers and a 6.0 rating in Adults 18-49. This is up from last year's game one, which drew 14.2 million viewers and a 5.7 demo rating. If the series can go six or seven games, would could be seeing some of the best numbers for an NBA Finals in quite a while
Getting a positive year-to-year boos was JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE: GAME NIGHT. The 30 minute special before each NBA Finals game is down slightly from last year, but is getting good exposure with the primetime presence.
Week three of GANG RELATED drew its lowest A18-49 rating, grabbing just a 0.8 rating in the demographic. It is now safe to say GANG RELATED is a complete flop.
Over on NBC, the second week of the summer sitcom UNDATEABLE saw a drop of more than 20% in it's ratings. Understandable, considering the NBA Game drew some viewers away. But the numbers are still very comparable to long running series COMMUNITY and PARKS & REC.
CBS was able to take the #2 spot in the network averages, on an all-repeat lineup. Strong shows that can repeat well, will do a great deal to the bottom line of CBS. Unlike what FOX is spending for similar ratings, for it's original programming.
