Final Broadcast Ratings: June 17, 2014
With the NBA playoffs done for another year, ABC fell back to reality, finishing third on the night. The network failed to draw many viewers, with a new two hour EXTREME WEIGHT LOSS getting just over three million viewers and a 0.8 demo rating. A repeat of CELEBRITY WIFE SWAP did slightly worse, finishing last in it's time slot.
NBC was the class of the night with it's one-two punch of AMERICA'S GOT TALENT and the new medical drama, THE NIGHT SHIFT. TALENT drew similar numbers as last week, while THE NIGHT SHIFT took a 13% drop in the key demographic ratings. THE NIGHT SHIFT still looks to be this year's new summer hit series.
CBS did well with it's crime drama repeats, pulling a 0.9 demo on the night. The three shows were also in the top five of total viewers, joining the two NBC programs.
Thankfully FOX finally axed the two horrible reality shows RIOT and I WANT TO MARRY HARRY and replaced them with comedy repeats. FAMILY GUY, a double shot of BROOKLYN NINE - NINE and THE MINDY PROJECT combined for a much better night for FOX. Week-to-week, the night rose 14% in total viewership and 25% in the A18-49 ratings. FOX was still a 4th place network, but the embarrassment is a lot less now.
