Final Broadcast Ratings: June 1, 2014
ABC and FOX split a repeat filled Sunday night for the broadcast networks as just 5.5 of the combined 15 hours of programming was original, most of it burn-off episodes of cancelled series. The summer doldrums are officially here.
Starting at the bottom of the original programming, FOX's ENLISTED pulled in a poultry 1.1 million viewers and a 0.4 rating in Adults 18-49, at 7 p.m. of a beautiful first day of June. The comedy has four episodes to burn-off, putting June 22nd as the series finale.
Closing out the night for FOX was COSMOS, which did tie for the top ratings in the A18-49 category. But, it only managed 3.5 million viewers to tune into a science program, three weeks from the first day of summer. A couple more two hour block of this should have been ran in the early spring, so the series could have been done in May.
ABC got a little traction with a special THE BACHELORETTE. The two hour Sunday episode did win it's time slot in the A18-49 ratings and in total viewers, but this is not the numbers we expect from the franchise, even on a special night.
NBC completes the rest of the original programming with it's two dramas BELIEVE and CRISIS. BELIEVE did measurably better than CRISIS, drawing 430k more viewer and a tenth better in the demo ratings. But, both are doomed and will end very soon.
