Complete Nielsen Ratings: June 9 - 15, 2014
The full Nielsen rankings and ratings from #1 to #93:
ABC takes another week in the ratings, thanks two three games of the NBA Finals. The series concluded on Sunday night as the Spurs defeat the Heat, four games to one. Game five was the most watched game of the series, grabbing 18 million viewers and a strong 6.8 rating in Adults 18-49. It is the best rated game 5 of the NBA Finals in six years.
Outside of the NBA Coverage, ABC only placed two regular series in the top 30. Both Friday night newsmagazines joined NBA Countdown and the NBA games to bring the networks total to seven top 30 shows.
NBC was a distant second place, despite airing over 20 hours of original programming. AMERICA'S GOT TALENT was the networks top rated show, getting 11.5 million viewers and a 2.6 demo rating, placing 4th on the week. THE NIGHT SHIFT continues to do very well for NBC, getting an 8th place finish and keeping a stable 1.5 demo number, week-to-week. Only three other NBC programs made the top 30, including the decisive game of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals. The KINGS clincher over the Rangers drew six million viewers and a 2.3 demo, on a Friday night.
CBS edged out FOX for the #3 spot, with just ONE hour of original programming, the Monday night episode of 48 HOURS. The newsmagazine placed 17th on the week, with 5.7 million viewers. CBS pushed 15 shows into the top 30, leaving just 11 shows below the 31st position.
FOX programmed 10 hours of original programs, with Friday night and Sunday night filled with repeats. A fourth place finish is not only a bad showing, but almost defeats the purpose of all the original programming the network has committed to, in attempt to attract viewers. Just three of the networks shows made the top 30. The balance of the FOX schedule placed 65th or lower, except for SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, at #37.
The CW was once again the #6 network of the week, finishing behind ION. With THE 100's season now done, expect even lower numbers for the CW.
