Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 04/30/14

CBS swept it's way to victory Wednesday night, as all three series won their hours in total viewership and two of the three won their slots in the A18-49 demographic. CSI was edged out in the A18-49 ratings, by the CHICAGO PD crossover with CHICAGO FIRE. We will see if this old over when final ratings are released tonight.

ABC's lineup was down from last week, as the network was 4th on the night. MODERN FAMILY was down by 1.3 million viewers and 20% in the A18-49 ratings, week-to-week. With CBS back in originals and ABC taking a big hit, don't expect ABC to three-peat it's weekly win in the A18-49 ratings.

The CW had another relatively nice Wednesday. Both series are near last week's final ratings. This and Tuesday Nights have become the stronger night's for the CW.

What can be said about AMERICAN IDOL, that has not already been said? It is just sad to see what was once the powerhouse of broadcast TV, become a mere shadow of itself. Perhaps FOX should think about bringing Simon Cowell to the Judges table.
