Preliminary Ratings: Monday 05/12/14
We had three season finales on Monday night, so we will start from the bottom and work our way up.
The CW's STAR CROSSED, not picked up for 2014-15, had it's series finale and drew a relatively respectable 1.2 million viewers. That is above the average it had been getting on Monday nights. With the CW done for the season, next week, look for the movie DISTRICT 9 to air next Monday.
Long running crime drama CASTLE had a decent season finale. The series collected 10.4 million viewers and a 2.0 demo rating for the season ender. That is not to far off from the 11.2 million viewers and a 2.1 demo rating, CASTLE got for last season's finale. ABC is sticking with the winning combination of DWTS and CASTLE, for Monday nights, next season.
The top season finale of the night came from the freshman hit drama THE BLACKLIST. losing just 5% of the audience of it's THE VOICE lead in, 10.5 million viewers and a 2.6 demo rating, tuned in to watch the finale. THE BLACKLIST was really the season's only true hit freshman series, from any network, and NBC will use that clout to help rebuild the network, next season. After a early fall start, on Monday nights, the series will move to the highly competitive slot of 9 p.m., on Thursday nights.
FOX had a decent showing last night. BONES was up, slightly, from it's last original episode, three weeks earlier. This late in the season, any increase is huge.
24:LIVE ANOTHER DAY did see a drop of 1.7 million viewers 23% in the demo, from last week's premiere, but it did increase from it's lead in and is significantly better then what THE FOLLOWING was generating, in the same time slot.
