Final Broadcast Ratings: May 27, 2014

NBC had a strong summer night of premieres, with the network sweeping the night, in every way possible.

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT picked up where THE VOICE left off, grabbing 12 million viewers and a 3.0 rating in adults 18-49. That is better than the 2013 season finale, which drew 11.2 million viewers and a 2.5 demo.

Following AGT was the new medical drama THE NIGHT SHIFT, which hauled in 7.7 million viewers and a 1.6 demo rating. It easily won the 10 p.m. hour, but the retention out of AGT was just over 50% in the demo, and that is not a good sign.

Over on ABC, the season premiere of EXTREME WEIGHT LOSS was a disappointment.  Just 4.0 million viewers and a 1.3 demo rating, not even beating a repeat of NCIS for the second spot in the hour. It may be a long summer for ABC, after the NBA Finals.

Speaking of a long summer FOX's current Tuesday night is just plain horrible. The two new shows was not far off from posting a lost to repeats on the CW. The week can not end without the network pulling one or both of the shows off the schedule.
