Complete Nielsen Ratings: May 19 - 25, 2014
The full Nielsen rankings and ratings from #1 to #78:
With just the three last days of the May sweeps to finish, ABC and NBC were the two big winners of the week, splitting leadership between total viewers and the individual demographic ratings, respectively. FOX was close behind ABC and NBC, while CBS programmed mostly repeats, mid-season burn-off and low rated specials. ABC programmed 14, out of 22, hours of original programing on the week.
With CBS mostly out of the picture, ABC had the two most watched programs of the week, both nights of the DANCING WITH THE STARS finale, grabbing over 15 million viewers each. Add in the Tuesday recap special and ABC won three of the top five spots. In total, ABC pushed seven programs in the top 30, five in the top 15.
NBC was right on ABC's heals, taking spots #3 and #4 with it's two nights of THE VOICE finale. Each night drew near identical 11.7 million viewers and a mid three in the demographic ratings. It's tuesday recap episode placed 11th, with 7.5 million viewers. The variety show special, THE MAYA RUDOLPH SHOW, drew 6.8 million viewers for the 17th spot on the chart. Collectively, NBC also placed seven programs in the top 30, all placing 21st or better. NBC had all seven days with original programming, the only network to do so.
FOX, still struggling, did get AMERICAN IDOL back up into the top 10, with a 6th place finish for the Wednesday night finale. It was the networks only top 15 showing, but FOX did get five programs in the top 30, including Sunday's NASCAR race, at #16. FOX had six days of full original programming.
Finishing in fourth for the week was CBS, which gave us just 7.5 hours of original programming for the week. But, it still managed to place eleven programs in the top 30, lead by the SURVIVOR finale at #8. After the sweeps ended on Wednesday night, CBS gave us just 30 minutes of new programming, a burn-off episode of the now cancelled BAD TEACHER sitcom.
The CW stayed above one million viewers, with the SUPERNATURAL season finale drawing 2.3 million viewers and THE 100 getting 1.5 million.
