The last full week of the 2013-14 TV season looked identical to the previous 5-6 weeks. ABC sweeps the demographic ratings, while CBS pushes to the top in total viewers and households. With exception of the A18-34 demographic, ABC and CBS finish 1-2 in each of the categories.
CBS grabs 16 spots in the top 30, including the top three shows of the week. At number one is NCIS, followed by THE BIG BANG THEORY and NCIS: LA. Nearly every CBS program was in the top 50, except the three encore programs on Saturday night.
ABC places eight shows in this week's top 30, with DANCING WITH THE STARS (#4), BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS (#8) and CASTLE (#9) all in the top 10. Three hours of the 2014 BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS, pushed ABC over the top to keep the A18-49 crown, one more week.
For FOX and NBC, the story remains the same. FOX struggles to have any series, other than AMERICAN IDOL, make the top 30, while NBC is lead by the one-two punch of THE VOICE and THE BLACKLIST.
The CW stayed consistent with it's spring ratings, pulling in normal ratings, over the past couple of months.
With just three days of ratings left, the 2013-14 TV season is pretty much over.
CBS is this year's most watched network for the 11th time in the past 12 years. It was also the network watched in more households. CBS was edged out by FOX for the #2 spot in the A18-49 ratings.
NBC was this year's champ in the Adults 18-49 ratings, topping FOX by two tenths of a ratings point. most of that winning margin was lost during the last two months of the season. NBC finished second in both households and total viewers.
ABC, which had a nice surge the last couple of months of the season, finished fourth in the A18-49 ratings, third in total viewers and third in households. 2014-15 could be a pivotal year for ABC to make a move back towards the top.
FOX was mostly a mess all season. It was 4th in both household and total viewership. It did finish second in the A18-49 ratings, but the network had both the Super Bowl and a primetime airing of the NFC Championship game.
