Broadcast Final Ratings: April 29, 2014
It was an all-original Tuesday night for the broadcast networks and CBS swept the night, claiming the most total viewers and the best A18-49 rating average. Meanwhile, FOX and The CW battle it out for 4th place. Yes, that is how bad it has gotten for FOX.
CBS won every hour on total viewers and took the last two hours of the night, in the A19-49 ratings. At 8 p.m., THE VOICE edged NCIS for the demo lead by just two tenths of a ratings point. All three shows saw gains in one, if not both reported categories, with NCIS jumping 15% in the demo ratings.
NBC, second on the night, did decent numbers, but it is the downward trend of THE VOICE that keeps the network from winning the night. As the season progresses, viewers of TH VOICE tends to fade out of the ratings. Compared to just last week, viewership is down nearly 500k and the demo is down another tenth of a point. Ratings will not usually perk up until the final week.
FOX and The CW were separated by just 400k viewers and one tenths of a ratings point in the A18-49 numbers. THE ORIGINALS tied GLEE in the demo numbers and SUPERNATURAL nearly matched the FOX comedies in both categories.
