Box Office Results: May 2 - 4, 2014
The second movie from the recently reboots THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN franchise was, by far, the #1 movie in the nation, this weekend. The tent pole movie brought in $92 million in it's first three days, in the USA market. It is the 3rd best opening for the SPIDER-MAN franchise, besting the first film of the reboot, in 2012, and the second movie of the original trilogy.
Last week's #1 movie, THE OTHER WOMAN, dropped one spot, with a $14 million take. It's grand total for the first 10 days is $24.8 million.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, now in it's fifth week of release, is still in the top 5. The Marvel Studios production is just $15 million away from becoming the #1 movie of 2014.
