Ratings Review: THE CRAZY ONES (Season One)
I think the fate of THE CRAZY ONES was completely dependent on how well you like the comedic humor of Robin Williams. If you are turned off by the high energy, improve nature of the comedian, you would not like the series. If you loved Williams, then you have a pretty good chance of liking THE CRAZY ONES.CBS placed THE CRAZY ONES in the 9 p.m. time slot, hoping viewers would tune in to the comedy until TWO AND A HALF MEN came on at 9:30 p.m. Unfortunately, that tactic didn't completely work. Also, being the only single camera comedy on the network, may have impacted it in a negative way. And, being the one different sitcom may be why it was not renewed with 95% of the rest of the CBS line up.
For the season, THE CRAZY ONES averaged 7.82 million viewers and a 1.9 rating in Adults 18-49, for the 27 airings, including five encore episodes. This once promising series, with a great, classic comedian, may have been to wild for viewers to enjoy. Williams is sometimes best taken in small dosses.
I enjoyed the series, but I will not be bitter if CBS does ax it next month. It is just another opportunity for my next favorite show to be born, something that THE CRAZY ONES did fail in inspiring viewers with.
