Primetime Cable Ratings: April 6, 2014
It's not THE WALKING DEAD, but GAME OF THRONES is still a force in the Cable TV landscape. The season four premiere drew 6.6 million viewers for HBO, making it the most watched program on the premium service, since the 2007 series finale of THE SOPRANOS. But, all is not good with HBO.
Off the chart, the new HBO series, SILICON VALLEY, finished in the #12 position, with just under two million viewers. a loss of 70% from its THRONES lead in. And dropping even further, on HBO, was VEEP, which drew less than one million viewers and is down from last season's finale.
The series premiere for the new AMC drama, TURN, did relatively well by getting 2.1 million viewers, while going head-to-head with GAME OF THRONES. It is not AMC's next big hit, but the Revolutionary War drama should do well for the network.
