Broadcast Final Ratings: April 23, 2014

AMERICAN IDOL and FOX led a low viewing night for the broadcast networks. IDOL drew 9.0 million viewers and a 2.1 rating in Adults 18-49, over the two hour telecast. It was enough to hold off ABC's all original line up and CBS' and NBC's repeat filled night. Idol was actually up from last week's numbers, by 500k in viewers and 11% in the demographic ratings.

MODERN FAMILY was the night's #1 show in the A18-49 ratings and total viewers, with a 3.5 score and 9.6 million viewers, respectively. But given the special Australian trip episode, I would have expected a better number from the series. It is only up slightly from it's last original episode, April 2nd. The rest of the night, for ABC, was down from their last originals, also April 2nd.

The CW's Wednesday night was relatively strong, averaging over two million viewers for the night. THE 100 held on to 90% of it's lead in, an impressive feat by the freshman series.
