Ratings: Broadcast Finals for March 9, 2014

ABC got a huge sampling for the series premiere of the new drama, RESURRECTION. The premiere brought in 13.9 million viewers and a 3.6 rating in Adults 18-49, both top numbers in their respective categories. Not only was it the best season premiere numbers for ABC this season, but it is the best numbers for three-four years. The second episode will truly tell us if this is a long term hit or a anomaly for ABC.

FOX also had a series premiere with COSMOS: A SPACE ODYSSEY, but drew a smaller audience. The scientific documentary remake collected 5.8 million viewers and a 2.1 demo rating. The numbers may look to be smaller than they really are as the series premiered across 10+ FOX networks, including FX and FOX SPORTS 1, plus some National Geographic networks. The one thing COSMOS did give FOX was an all original Sunday night, with the toons only filling two of the three hours.

CBS' dramas returned to originals for the first time since January 12th. Both THE GOOD WIFE and THE MENTALIST were both down from that telecast, but considering the layoff and the competition, the numbers are fairly decent for CBS.

FOX - 4.1 million viewers, 1.7 rating in Adults 18-49
