Ratings: Broadcast Finals for March 27, 2014

The lone series premiere was on FOX, Thursday Night, and the results are so-so, at best.

SURVIVING JACK, premiering out of AMERICAN IDOL, drew just 5.1 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49. Not great numbers, but the loss out of Idol was 35% in viewers and 32% in the demo ratings. Just a few uears back, if a new series had those retention rates out of IDOL, FOX would be looking at the next hit TV series. now, it's below average and nothing to tout about.

The second Thursday of NCAA Tournament coverage on CBS performed much better than last week. CBS' ratings for the Sweet 16 Round more than doubled from the opening rounds, last week. It helps that there are less games and better teams in each game. Look for strong ratings to continue on Friday night and increase on Saturday night.

ABC finally saw an increase in the numbers for it's two veteran dramas. Since returning from a winter hiatus, GREY'S ANATOMY and SCANDAL had been sliding with it's ratings. Thursday night was the best the two have done since the mid-season premieres, one month earlier.
