Ratings: Broadcast Finals for March 18, 2014

NBC and CBS split leadership on Tuesday night. CBS grabbed the most viewers, while NBC took the A18-49 ratings.

NBC's new Tuesday night is becoming a very solid line up. The two new comedies, at 9 p.m., are holding steady, easily beating ABC and FOX and being competitive against CBS, in the A18-49 ratings. CHICAGO FIRE, now with a decent lead in, can now battle PERSON OF INTEREST in the demo ratings each week, with the occasional win in the hour.

ABC and FOX stunk up the night. they finished a distant 3rd /4th every half hour of the night.

CBS is starting to see the Spring fall happen to it's Tuesday dramas. NCIS is down from 18-19 million viewers to 16-17 million and the demo ratings are off by about half point, from earlier this winter.

This helps make the cast that the broadcast networks need to rethink the regular TV season. This is not the 1960's or 1970's. American habits have dramatically changed over the last 30-40 years. Ending the regular season in April would greatly help the season averages, by not getting two months of below average ratings. Then start the TV season, on Labor day. Vacations are over and kids are back in school.

CBS - 14.1 million viewers, 2.1 rating in Adults 18-49

CW - 1.7 million viewers, 0.8 rating in Adults 18-49

FOX - 2.4 million viewers, 1.0 rating in Adults 18-49

NBC - 9.1 million viewers, 2.5 rating in Adults 18-49
