Ratings: Broadcast Finals for March 11, 2014
So, ABC, do you ant the good news first, or the bad news? Bad News... Well, MIND GAMES still drew well under three million viewers, for it's third outing. The good news, It is up in both viewership and in the A18-49 ratings. In fact, the demo numbers are up 30% over last week. Unfortunately, it is still under a one rating. We will see if ABC pulls the cancellation trigger in the next 24 hour. If they don't, they may just ride out the series and look for rebuilding in the fall.
The two new NBC comedies held up well in their second week, with original episodes. ABOUT A BOY lost just 6% in total viewers and 16% in the demo numbers. GROWING UP FISHER was slightly stronger with the same 6% lost in viewership, but only a 5% loss in the A18-49 ratings. Considering THE VOICE lost over one million viewers (or 10%) and 17% in the demo, from last Tuesday, the week-to-week retention rate is really good. These two shows could be the first steps of rebuilding NBC comedies.
Despite airing all repeats, CBS was still the most watched network of the night, topping the all original schedule of NBC. It was third in the A18-49 numbers, beating FOX.
And speaking of FOX, if they keep up this level of horrid ratings, they might as well call themselves the CW 2.O. THE ORIGINALS tied GLEE in the demo ratings and had SUPERNATURAL been an original episode, it would have challenged the FOX comedies in the same category.
