Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 03/12/14

FOX and CBS were neck & neck Wednesday night, as each collected just over 10 million viewers and a mid two in the A18-49 ratings. AMERICAN IDOL was just strong enough to help FOX edge out CBS in the demo ratings, but my, how the mighty have fallen. IDOL is topped by SURVIVOR in the A18-49 ratings and, depending on finals, could also be passed by CRIMINAL MINDS. Make you wonder if FOX would really give IDOL the same fate it did THE X FACTOR.

ABC edged out NBC for the #3 spot of the night, topping the NBC in two of the three hours. MODERN FAMILY was the top show of the night, by far, in the demo ratings. It is a sad state of affairs that not only did just one show pulling a demo rating over a 3.0, but just five of the 14 programs of the whole night could manage a demo rating over a 2.0.

CBS - 10.2 million viewers, 2.3 rating in Adults 18-49

CW - 0.9 million viewers, 0.3 rating in Adults 18-49

FOX - 10.1 million viewers, 2.4 rating in Adults 18-49

NBC - 5.6 million viewers, 1.5 rating in Adults 18-49
