Preliminary Ratings: Tuesday 03/25/14
As we enter the last week of March 2014, we are starting to see more repeats from the five broadcast networks. Of the 13 hours of programming, 31% was encore episodes. Only FOX and CBS gave us a full night's worth of original shows.
CBS dominated viewership, collecting more viewers than the other four networks, combined. The three crime dramas were three of the four most watched shows of the night, with PERSON OF INTEREST being just edged out by THE VOICE by a few thousand viewers. CBS was aslo the only network to post a 2.0 rating, or better, in the A18-49 ratings, all three hours.
With THE VOICE losing a million viewers and 9% in the demo ratings, the two new comedies held up rather well. ABOUT A BOY was up in total viewers, from last week, and down just one tenth of a ratings point. GROWING UP FISHER lost the same number in it's demo ratings, and was slight down in viewership. I think NBC has two keepers for next season.
The CW has a keeper of it's own as an encore of THE 100 brought in 1.6 million viewers, on it's own, at 8 p.m. it is rare to see an encore of a freshman series, from the CW, do this well. It will be interesting to see how the new episodes, tonight, does in week #2. Will it once again be the #1 CW program of the week?
