Preliminary Ratings: Saturday 03/15/15

Saturday night is getting more and more crowded with TV news magazines and programs.Between ABC, NBC and CBS, 55% of their programming was produced by the news divisions of their respective networks. And, based on the ratings, it may be the direction to go on the night.

News programs took three of the top four spots, in the A18-49 ratings and were three of the top five most watched shows. 20/20 was not only the top news program on the night, it was the top show of the night, in both viewership and demo ratings.

Success in the news didn't come to CBS, the network with the longest running news program on the night. The glut of other news shows pushed the ratings for 48 HOURS below normal, to under 2.5 million viewers and a 0.4 demo rating. Earlier this season, 48 HOURS would draw over 5 million viewers and near a 1.0 demo rating.
