Ratings Review: 2013-14 NFL Playoffs

It was a record year for the NFL playoffs. Almost every game posted all-time highs or best ratings in decades, for the round level and time for each telecast. When you think about it, it is pretty amazing to see 30+ million viewers tune into TV at 1:00 p.m., on a Sunday afternoon.

SUPER BOWL XLVIII did just make it to be the all-time most watched TV program in US history, surpassing SUPER BOWL XLVI, in 2012. Had the game been a closer game, instead of the blow out it was, we may have seen the viewer total as high as 115 million.

The top 10 markets watching the Super Bowl were:

1) 58.1/78 - Kansas City (household rating/share)
2) 56.7/92 - Seattle
3) 53.9/74 - Indianapolis
4) 53.2/72 - New Orleans
5) 52.9/71 - Tulsa
6) 52.5/75 - Las Vegas
7) 52.4/82 - Portland
8) 52.3/68 - Knoxville
9) 52.0/68 - Jacksonville
10)51.4/83 - Denver
10) 51.4/71 - Tampa

Host market New York delivered a 50.5 score
