Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 02/20/2014

It was day #15 of Olympic coverage on NBC and the length of the games are beginning to take its toll. Week-to-week, the games lost three million viewers and a full ratings point in Adults 18-49. But, the near 20 million viewers is still a dominating performance over the rest of American TV.

The season finale of the low viewed cooking series THE TASTE did not attract much above it's average in recent weeks. Just 3.2 million viewers bothered to watch the competition. ABC was easily the #4 network of the night.

AMERICAN IDOL posted a season low with a little over 9 million viewers and a 2.4 demo rating. This caped off a three night event week for the series that finished with a dud, instead of a bang.

CBS was again an all repeat lineup, but it nearly overtook FOX in both viewers and demo ratings. CBS gave MOM a bit of a push with a special airing after BIG BANG. The freshman comedy performed about the same as repeats of THE MILLERS has done in the slot. Moving TWO AND A HALF MEN, to 9 p.m., looks to give a more consistent flow of the ratings for the last two hours of the night.
