Ratings Review: THE SING-OFF (2013)
NBC brought the singing competition series THE SING OFF back after a one year hiatus, for a fourth season. The series did "OK" as holiday filler, but it is no means a hit of any kind.
THE SING OFF's only success in the ratings came from THE VOICE being it's lead in for two of it's first four episodes. With out THE VOICE, the numbers were down to mid to high ones in the A18-49 ratings, and only once did those episodes crack 6 million viewers.
For the seven episode run, THE SING OFF averaged 5.9 million viewers and a 1.7 rating in Adults 18-49. The last three episodes, including the finale only averaged a 1.4 demo rating and just 5.1 million viewers.
I can see NBC picking this up again in 2014. The ratings are better than repeats of it's regular series and they keep a freshness to the network schedule.
