Ratings: Broadcast Finals for January 16, 2014

For the second consecutive night, FOX and AMERICAN IDOL won the night. The second night of the two night premiere for AMERICAN IDOL drew 13.4 million viewers and a 3.9 rating in Adults 18-49. This is down nearly two million viewers and 23% in the demo ratings, from the previous night. Not a good sign for the long term future of the aging series.

Despite being in all repeats, CBS was the #2 network of the night. Actually not a tough feat considering the lineups of both ABC and NBC, but it does show just how weak the two networks are right now. NBC Thursday nights are a train wreak and ABC cant produce anything without the two dramas in place.

Thursday Night Network Averages:
ABC - 3.4 million viewers, 1.0 rating in Adults 18-49
CBS - 7.2 million viewers, 1.5 rating in Adults 18-49
CW - 2.0 million viewers, 0.4 rating in Adults 18-49
FOX - 13.4 million viewers, 3.9 rating in Adults 18-49
NBC - 3.1 million viewers, 1.0 rating in Adults 18-49
