Ratings: Broadcast Finals for December 2, 2013
NBC dominated Monday night, sweeping the night in both total viewership and younger demographics. Leading off the night was THE VOICE, which is starting to see viewership rise as it it 12 million viewers for the first time since October 28th. however, A18-49 ratings remained flat, as their lowest season levels, for a Monday edition.
Sagging ratings ended at 10 p.m. as THE BLACKLIST posted it's best ratings since September. This is also the third straight episode to rise in the ratings, over the previous week. THE BLACKLIST has very much earned it's full season order for a second season in 2014-15.
With ABC in holiday mode, CBS rose to second place on the night. Ratings still have a lot of room to improves, but from now until March, the comedies need to attract as many viewers as possible before THE VOICE and DWTS return for their spring seasons.
CMA COUNTRY CHRISTMAS did decent numbers for ABC, but nothing near where CASTLE or DWTS earn during the fall. THE BACHELOR is ready to go for ABC just after the new year and the network should be competitive again.
The CW did better than normal as A VERY MUPPET CHRISTMAS averaged better numbers than the regular series do. It is the best numbers the night has seen all season, on The CW.
ALMOST HUMAN continues to fall in the ratings. If this series is going to make the 2014-15 schedule, a reversal is needed now. FOX can't expect THE FOLLOWING to revive it in January.
