- FX secures top theatrical movies:
FX has aquired the rights to hit theatrical movies GRAVITY, CAPTAIN PHILLIS and THOR: THE DARK WORLD. Also included are BAD GRAMPA, CHANCE/MEATBALLS 2 - CW freshmen get full season orders:
First year series REIGN, THE TOMORROW PEOPLE and THE ORIGINALS all received full season orders form The CW.
- Wahlburgs set for A&E:
Donnie & Mark Wahlburg are in the new A&E reality series that will also feature their brother Paul and their restaurant venture. The series is set to premiere on January 22, 2014. - Watch the game on your Roku:
The streaming content interface box, Roku, has landed ESPN and Disney to its vast list of content providers. Similar to its smart phone and tablet apps, you can watch programming from the channels through your Roku device. Cable subscription authentication is required. - Aereo getting help from the US Senate:
US Senator Jay Rockefeller will introduce a bill that will benefit services like Aereo to compete against large cable companies to help drive down costs and increase choice for the consumer.
- Live+30 advertising sales:
CBS CEO Les Moonves wants advertisers to pay rates based on a Live+30 day model. Currently ads are sold on Live+3 viewing ratings. - NBC to air variety show pilot:
NBC has ordered a variety show pilot from Maya Rudolph and will air it as a TV special, after the 2014 Winter Olympics. - Ryan Seacrest & Nickelodeon:
Ryan Seacrest productions has sold 40 episodes of the game show GO VIRAL to Nickelodeon. - Pay-TV companies lose another 113,000 customers:
Cable & satellite companies lose another 113k in customers for Q3 of 2013. The 2013 total is now at 687,000 customers lost.
- Daily Show vet jumps to HBO:
The DAILY SHOW's John Oliver is jumping over to HBO to hos his own show. The show will debut in 2014, scheduled for Sunday Nights - More HELL ON WHEELS:
AMC announced that the western series HELL ON WHEELS has been renewed for a 4th season, with an episode order increased to 13 episodes.
- @MIDNIGHT gets 40 more:
Comedy Central has ordered 40 more week so of the new late night series @MIDNIGHT - THE SIMPSONS make cable deal:
The new cable network FXX has secured the exclusive cable right to THE SIMPSONS, starting in August of 2014. The network will get the first 530 episodes and subsequent episodes after its first run on FOX. FXX won the bid war with something in between one to two million dollars per episode. That could net around ONE BILLION DOLLARS, or more, over the course of the contract. - THE KILLING rises fron the dead, again:
The series that will not die is getting a 6 episode 4th season on Netflix.
