The CW Looking at Another Superhero

(tvguide.com) The CW is looking to add another DC Comics character to its stable of superheroes. The network behind Arrow is now developing the script Hourman, based on characters that first appeared in 1940.

Hourman centers on a "brilliant yet troubled" pharmaceutical analyst who discovers that he can see glimpses of tragic events about to occur one hour into the future. "Determined to win back his ex-wife and son, he heroically prevents these tragedies from unfolding, finding both purpose and redemption along the way," the network says.

Dan Lin (Gangster Squad) and Jennifer Gwartz will executive produce through their Lin Pictures production company at Warner Bros. TV. Michael Caleo, who most recently executive produced NBC's short-lived Ironside adaptation, will write the script.

Hourman is just the latest in a string of superheroes in development at the CW. The network is also adding The Flash to Arrow this season, with an eye toward a spinoff. Outside of the DC universe, The CW also recently started developing the script The Avenger, based on the 1939 pulp novel series, to be executive produced by Neal Baer (Under the Dome).
