It was a three horse race in the ratings last week, as FOX, CBS and NBC all had something good to cheer about in the ratings.
NBC lead the networks in A18-49 ratings, with a 2.4 score, edging out FOX y just one tenth of a ratings point and CBS by two tenths. FOX took the A18-34 demographic numbers with a 2.1 rating, edging NBC by one tick of the ratings meter. CBS took the older, A25-54 rating, total viewers and households ratings. ABC was fourth place in every category.
FOX's success came on the last two games of the World Series. Game five ranked 7th, with 14.5 million viewers, while the clincher brought in 19.2 million ranking 3rd on the week. It was the networks only two entries in the top 30. It next highest watched program was THE SIMPSONS at 48th, with 5.4 million viewers.
NBC lives and dies by SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL and when a game is a miss in the ratings, the weekly numbers are dramatically affected. This Sunday's game was the second lowest rated game of the season, bettering only the previous week's ratings. The network only had four other programs make the top 30. One edition of FOOTBALL NIGHT IN AMERICA (#22), the two editions of THE VOICE (#9 and #12) and the hit drama THE BLACKLIST (#16).
CBS pushed 18 programs into this week's top 30, including three repeats of THE BIG BANG THEORY. every Sunday - Friday program, except HOSTAGES, made the top 50 most watched programs of the week.
For ABC, only DANCING WITH THE STARS made the top 20, while GREY'S ANATOMY, SCANDAL and College Football added to the networks top 30 programs.
The CW again dropped from last week's numbers and was was a lot closer to ION's ratings than the network would like, with a week full of original programming. Just 370k viewers separated the two networks.
