Ratings Review: BREAKING BAD (Summer 2013)
BREAKING BAD signs off as perhaps the second most successful series from AMC, behind THE WALKING DEAD. Over most of its five seasons, it was an average ratings producer. In season three is failed to draw 2 million viewers to a single episode. But when it hit Netflix, the series exploded.
The first half of the final season, BREAKING BAD averaged about 2.8 million viewers per episode. About 50% more than the previous season. Then during this last episodes. The ratings doubled. 4-5 million viewers to start with, then six million and then for the finale, 10 million viewers.
For the final 8 episodes BREAKING BAD averaged 6.04 million viewers and a 3.1 rating in adults 18-49. With exception to the final season, BB was not a popular series, but it could go down as one of the best cable dramas of all time.
