Ratings: Broadcast Finals for October 4, 2013
CBS and ABC split leadership on Friday night. ABC, lead by SHARK TANK (1.9) was tops in the A18-49 ratings, while CBS collected the most viewers, with all three programs being the most watched of the night.
CBS may have found a Friday night line up that works very well, all three hours. Each hour increased, by double digits, from the previous hour and the A18-49 ratings held steady through the night. The movie of HAWAII FIVE-O to Fridays is just what the evening needed.
The ABC sitcom THE NEIGHBORS is the only weak spot of the night. It continues to lose 1/3 of the lead in audience and is in danger of dropping below a 1.0 rating in Adults 18-49. This series success last season was ALL about its cushy time slot on Wednesday nights, and not about the popularity of the show. If THE NEIGHBORS' ratings trend continues, expect it to be pulled by the November sweeps.
Week two of MASTERCHEF JUNIOR, on FOX, did OK. It lost just 8% of its premiere viewers, but is down 19% in the demographic ratings. It is still one of the better Friday night performers FOX has had in a long time.
NBC finished 4th in the 8 p.m. hour with its sitcom repeats, but rose to third in the final two hours of the night.
