Primetime Cable Ratings: October 2, 2013
If it is Wednesday, DUCK DYNASTY will rule the night on cable. The popular reality series was not only the #1 cable program of the night, but it placed four additional encore episode in the top 10. If DUCK DYNASTY was a broadcast program, it would have been the #2 show of the night in the A18-49 ratings, behind MODERN FAMILY.
The American League Wild Card elimination game between the Rays and Indians, captured the #2 spot with over 4.7 million viewers. That is at least a million more viewers than a good THE BIG BANG THEORY rerun would pull in, and slight better than the comedy in the A18-49 ratings. But, with cable, people and households are a very important number. The more subscribers a network can get to watch their programming, the higher the network can charge the cable companies for each of their subscribers.
