- Twitter Active in Social TV:
Twitter added two big TV hitters this week. Deal were inked with both CBS and The NFL to use twitter as a ad marketing platform. Earlier in the month, Twitter also secured ABC and purchased the social analytics company Trendrr. - FTC grants Nielsen purchase:
The Federal Trade Commission ok'ed Nielsen's purchase of Arbitron. - CBS developing another possible NCIS spin-off:
A New Orleans based series could be the third NCIS series for next season. A two part backdoor pilot will be part of NCIS: LA this season. NCIS star Mark Harmon is on board to executive produce.

FX has ordered a 13 episode second season of the new drama THE BRIDGE. - Aereo adds more cities:
The streaming service announced the addtion of Cincinnati, Columbus, OH, Indianapolis and San Antonio to its list of markets. No date was given as to when the service would be launched in each city. - ARMY WIVES ends run:
The lifetime series will not be back next year as the network had decided not to pick it up after its 7th season. - GRINGO coming to STARZ:
The premium cable channel is developing a new drama based on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent infiltrating Mexico's drug cartels.
- Batman prequel in works:
FOX has struck a deal to bring the series GOTHAM to the network. The focus will be on the origin story of (Commissioner) James Gordon. The series is set for next year.
- HBO renews drama:
HBO drama BOARDWALK EMPIRE has been renewed for a 5th season. - Summer Drama Renewed:
The ABC drama MISTRESSES had been picked up for a second season. - BATTLE CREEK gets 13 episode order:
CBS has inked a deal with the BREAKING BAD creator and the writer of HOUSE for a new series titled BATTLE CREEK. [LINK] - DirectTV rates to rise in 2014:
Direct TV subscribers will pay more for the service in 2014. Payments to TV broadcasters have risen 50% over the past year and 600% in three years. [LINK] - New streaming service on Target:
Retail outlet Target, has launched its streaming service to compete with Netflix and Amazon. Target Ticket will let you purchase/rent TV and movie titles, starting at $0.99. Apps are available via Androuid, Apple, Roku, XBox 360 and Samsung TVs. - BOB'S BURGERS goes for 5:
FOX animated series BOB'S BURGERS has been for a fifth season.
- From SHERLOCK to FARGO:
Martin Freeman, who plays John Watson on SHERLOCK, will play opposite Billy Bob Thorton in FX's series FARGO. - Nickelodeon announces new shows:
The kids network announces two new animated series, BAD SEEDS and PIG GOAT BANANA CRICKET, and four live-action series. The live action series are TWANG, a Texas cheerleader show, NICKY, RICKY, DICKY & DON, and finally SMART ALEC
