Ratings Review: THE VAMPIRE DIARIES (Season Four)

Stability is the strength of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES. It is consistently one of, if not THE top series on the struggling CW Network. It is also the only current series that has kept its same time slot for 5 years in a row.

With the addition of ARROW, on The CW, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES now has a second program to help carry the load of the ratings. It is now a close second to ARROW in the ratings, with some weeks, getting the better numbers.

For the season, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES averaged 2.21 million viewers and a 1.0 rating in Adults 18-49. TVD aired 32 times, including 7 repeat episodes. The series still has life in it and should be on the CW schedule for many seasons to come. Perhaps new lead out series REIGN will bring in new viewers for TVD, tuning in early for the freshman period drama.
