Ratings: Broadcast Finals for September 23, 2013
IT'S HERE!!
THE NEW TV SEASON IS HERE!!
NBC easily sweeps the night as THE VOICE and the new drama THE BLACKLIST win every time slot. The #1 show of the night, THE VOICE drew 15 million viewers and a 5.1 rating in Adults 18-49. That is 2.7 million more viewers and growth of 21% in the A18-49 ratings, over last fall's season premiere.
Having a great lead in like THE VOICE was not waisted on THE BLACK LIST. It maintained 84% of the audience and only lost 25% of its A18-49 viewers. However, the premiere was lower in the A18-49 ratings, than when REVOLUTION premiered last year.
Week two of DWTS dropped 2.4 million viewers and 26% in the demo ratings, from last week. This should have been expected, given the increased competition of the CBS and NBC season premieres. Castle was up a million viewers and one tenth of a ratings point, from last seasons premiere.
It was week two for the FOX dramas and both were understandably down from last week. BONES was off by one million viewers and 17% in the A18-49 ratings. Episode two of the new series SLEEPY HOLLOW lost about 1.5 million viewers. but was down only 11% in the demo ratings.
CBS was the real loser last night, despite finishing 2nd in the A18-49 ratings. Only HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was able to crack the 3.0 barrier in the Adult 18-49 ratings and drew over 9 million viewers. From 9 p.m. on, CBS was a third place network, with disappointing series premieres for both MOM and the limited series drama HOSTAGES.
