Ratings: Broadcast Finals for September 27, 2013
CBS took Friday night in the ratings with strong and consistent ratings from all three programs. Kicking off the night was reality series UNDERCOVER BOSS, with 8.2 million viewers and a 1.6 raring in Adults 18-49. It was down about one million viewers from CSI: NY's premiere in the 8 p.m. time slot, last year. However, it was up 23% in the A18-49 from last year.
Following UB, was transplanted cop drama HAWAII FIVE-O. The fourth year series drew 9.5 million viewers and a 1.6 demo rating. It is a good sign that H5O increased in viewers and maintained the A18-49 ratings. That is something last year's 9 p.m. occupant couldn't do. As you remember, MADE IN JERSEY was a quick exit from the schedule, in 2012.
At 10 p.m. BLUE BLOODS collected the night's largest audience (11.8 million viewers) and was the #2 program in the A18-49 ratings, with a 1.7 mark. BB was on par to last year's premiere viewership, and up 13% in the demo ratings. As long as H5O does not hurt the line up, CBS should regularly win the night.
Showing vast improvements on the night was FOX. MASTERCHEF JUNIOR drew 4.3 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in Adults 18-49 . Compared to what FOX was getting in the spring on the night MJ got about a million+ more viewers and a 60%, or more, in the demo ratings. If MASTERCHEF JUNIOR can keep this audience week-to-week, expect a quick second season renewal for the series.
Week two of ABC's Friday night line up took a bit of a hit. LAST MAN STANDING, THE NEIGHBORS and 20/20 each lost viewers and/or ratings in Adults 18-49. Only SHARK TANK maintained its viewership and rose two tenths of a ratings point, in the A18-49 ratings.
