Complete Nielsen Ratings: Week of September 2, 2013
The full Nielsen rankings and ratings from #1 to #92:
ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!?? AMERICA IS!!
NFL Football is back in a very big way. Week one of the 2013 NFL season captured the five top spots in this week's chart and a total of six in the top 10. The top game of the week was the FOX overrun of the late afternoon Sunday games, producing 28.5 million viewers and a 10.6 rating in Adults 18-49. This topped both the Thursday night kickoff game and SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, on NBC. The FOX NFL game also set records in all major Nielsen categories, including most of the male demographics.
With two full night dedicated to NFL football, NBC easily swept the week in all categories, plus took four of the top five spots on the chart and a total of seven in the top 10. THE two NFL games came in second and third place, while Thursday pre-games and Sunday FOOTBALL NIGHT IN AMERICA drew large numbers in anticipation of the high profile games.
Considering it did not have a NFL game in primetime, CBS actually weathered the week in decent shape. Its number were actually UP from the previous week and it still produced 13 programs in this week's top 25, lead by UNDER THE DOME at #6.
ABC was the network everyone seemed to have forgotten about. It failed to place a single program in the top 25 chart and only its Saturday broadcast of the NASCAR race made it in the top 30. But, do not feel sorry for ABC. Parent company Disney is still making more money with ESPN airing MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL than if it was on ABC. Disney is about see that money increase as a battle with one of the satelite companies is coming this fall, over carriage fees.
I failed to publish a CW Weekly this week, but there was little change in the networks ratings, week to week. WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY? finished in #68 and #71, as the only CW programs not at the very bottom of the chart. The network was once again the #6 english speaking broadcaster, losing again to ION-TV. After 50 weeks of the 2012-13 TV season, ION was able to creep up to within a tenth of a ratings point in total viewers, and two tenths in total households.
