TV News Roundup: Week of August 26, 2013
Here is a quick look at the past five days of TV news as we head into the weekend.

- LOVE, AMERICAN STYLE reboot:
CBS has put a reboot of the 70's romance/comedy anthology series, LOVE, AMERICAN STYLE, into development. If successful, this will be the third time for the series, out of four attempts. - Movie 12 MONKEYS getting TV pilot:
the 1995 film 12 MONKEYS, starring Bruce willis and Brad Pit, will have a pilot developed for SYFY
- Apple TV adds more channels:
The streaming service added th Weather Channel, Vevo Music, Disney and Disney XD. - Hulu orders comedy series:
Hulu picked up 10 episodes of the new comedy DEADBEAT from Lionsgate Television. The series is scheduled to premiere in 2014.
- Social media firm Trendrr is bought by Twitter:
The social TV analytics firm Trendrr is being purchased by Social media giant Twitter. This is another part of Twitter providing Social TV content as part of its free service.
- Netflix orders comedy Special:
Comedian Aziz Ansari will debut his third comedy special on Netflix, instead of a traditional cable network. Other spcials by Marc Maron and Kathleen Madigan are being developed.
- A&E cancels drama:
Drama THE GLADES was axed by A&E. - NFL Network now #2 in carriage fees:
By adding more games to the network, the NFL Network is now the second most expensive network on cable at an average of $1.34 per subscriber. With 69.7 million homes, that will translate to $1.12 billion annually. ESPN is still #1 with an average sub fee of $5.45.
