Ratings Archives: Week of March 2, 1998
After losing the February sweeps to CBS, NBC roars back and win the week of March 2, 1998.
The peacock network drew an 10.0 household ratings average over the week and posted 10 programs in the top 20 chart. All five Thursday programs were at the top of the chart, lead by ER with a 21.4 rating and 30.4 million viewers.
CBS placed second for the week with a 9.0 ratings average, but placed just three programs (its Sunday Lineup) in the top 20.
ABC had the second most top 20 programs, with five, but all five are ranked 13th or worse. Its top program was 20/20, with a 11.8 rating and 16.4 million viewers.
FOX, just edged out of third place, had three programs in the top 20, lead by the special BREAKING THE MAGICIAN'S CODE 2. The Tuesday special program collected 19.8 million viewers and a solid 12.0 household rating. Leading in to the new special was a repeat of the original MAGICIAN'S CODE special. It drew 15.7 million viewers and a 10 rating.
After two years since their launch, THE WB is beginning to move ahead of UPN in the weekly ratings. The WB averaged a 3.7 rating to UPN's 3.0 rating. 7th HEAVEN is a bigger hit than STAR TREK: VOYAGER and not much else on UPN is gaining traction.
