TV News Roundup: Week of July 8, 2013
Who will own Hulu? It was a bumpy week as Disney/NewsCorp try to figure out exactly what they want from the streaming service. Plus there are pick ups, cancellations, stars leaving series and returning to series.

- CBS extends deal with Netflix:
The extension includes series CSI: NY, 4400 and LA COMPLEX and are available right now. - HULU bidders are in:
Direct TV, AT&T with Chernin Group, and Guggenheim Digital Media with a private equity firm KKR.
- Elizabeth Hasselbeck joins FOX & Friends:
The former THE VIEW co-host will begin her new duties on FOX & Friends in mid-September. - FOX orders pilot for GENTLEMEN:
FOX has ordered a put pilot based on the graphic novel LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN. A theatrical film from 2003 was also based on the novel. Being a put pilot, FOX is obligated to air the pilot even if it does not go to series. - Broadcast only TV homes rise:
Nearly one of every five homes are now broadcast TV only and not subscribing to any pay TV service. This is a total of 22 million homes. This is up 6% from last year
- Hulu bids now down to two:
The Guggenheim group is now out of the bidding process for Hulu. It now just leaves Direct TV and the AT&T.
- Coach returns to NEW GIRL:
Now that HAPPY ENDINGS has been cancelled, Damon Wayans, Jr., "Coach," will return for a six episode arc on NEW GIRL this coming season. - More SAM & CAT:
Nickelodeon has ordered 20 additional episodes for the new crossover spinoff series SAM & CAT. - BETTY WHITE'S OFF THEIR ROCKERS axed by NBC:
The day after its second season finales, NBC announced that they have cancelled the hidden camera comedy. - NBC picks up game show:
NBC has ordered eight episodes of the comedy game show WALL OF FAME. No premiere date was given.
- Hulu is now Not For Sale:
The owners of July have taken it off the market and will invest $750 million into the service.
