ESPN losed valuable sports franchise and the cable networks are picking up series left & right.

MONDAY:
  • ABC Family cancels BUNHEADS:
    Following THE LYING GAME last week, the first year series BUNHEADS has been canclled by ABC Family.
TUESDAY:
  • NBC gets NACAR back:
    NBC and NBC SPORTS NETWORK out bid ESPN and TNT for the second half of the NASCAR season. Starting in 2015, seven races will air on NBC and 13 races on NBC Sports Network.
  • WE orders first scripted program:
    The WE cable network has ordered its first scripted series THE DIVIDE. The series will premiere in 2014.
WEDNESDAY:
  • Google's Chromecast:
    Goole presented a easy and inexpensive devise that can stream video from you device to your TV, in HD. The Chromecast is just $35 each and the first shipment has already sold out. Learn more about this device from CNET
  • Another SNL cast member leaves:
    Using THE LATE SHOW with David Letterman as the platform, Jason Sudeikis announces he will not be back on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE.
  • CBS to launch new Saturday morning block:
    Partnering with litton Entertainment, CBS will launch a new three hour block on Saturdays, that include six 1/2 programs. [Link]
THURSDAY:
  • BBC America announces fall premiere dates:
    LAW & ORDER: UK (Aug. 7), BROADCHURCH (Aug. 7), ATLANTIS (Nov. 23), DR. WHO 50th Anniv. (Nov. 23),  RIPPER STREET (Dec. 1).
  • CINEMAX sets September premiere for new series:
    THE KNICK, starring Clive Owen, will premiere in September with a 10 episode run.
  • HELLO LADIES coming to HBO:
    A new HBO comedy series HELLOW LADIES will premiere on September 29, 2013
FRIDAY:
  • MTV Announces Miley Cyrus Documentary:
    MTV is producing a one hour documentary on the former singing /TV child star.
  • NickMom picks up INSTANT MOM:
    NickMom has picked up its first sitcom INSTANT MOM, starring Tia Mowry-Hardict, for 13 episode order.
  • DOMINION picked up by SYFY:
    SYFY has green lit the pilot for a new series DOMINION. The series is based on the 2010 film LEGION. No premiere date was released.
