Ratings: Broadcast Finals for June 12, 2013

NBC hit the jackpot when the Chicago Blackhawks and the Boston Bruins both made it to the NHL Stanley Cup Finals. Having two US markets in the top ten, will draw viewers. Having a tied game go into three OTs will keep viewers. Game one pulled in a strong 6.4 million viewers and a 2.5 rating in Adults 18-49. Compared to last year, viewership is up 120% and the demo ratings is up 227%. The network will next air game #4 next Wednesday, June 19. NBC Sports Network will air games #2 & #3.

Quietly, its looking like THE AMERICAN BAKING COMPETITION may become a decent summer performer for CBS. Now in its third week, the series has grown each week, from the previous. Since its  May 29 debut, the series is up 20% in the A18-49 ratings. From last week, viewership rose 20%. Yes, it is still to early to renew this for next summer, but it is also too early to dismiss it.

ABC is not having the same fortune with its new series THE LOOKOUT. After three weeks, the series is flat. It draws roughly the same numbers each week. About 3.9 million viewers and a 1.1 demo rating.  On the positive, it is not loosing viewers. On the negative side, the numbers started low and have yet to see growth. To paraphrase a financial quote. 'If you are not growing, you are dying.'

NBC - 6.4 million viewers, 2.5 rating in Adults 18-49.

FOX - 5.8 million viewers, 2.4 rating in Adults 18-49.

CBS - 6.4 million viewers, 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49.

ABC - 4.0 million viewers, 1.1 rating in Adults 18-49.

CW - 1.1 million viewers, 0.3 rating in Adults 18-49.
