Ratings: Broadcast Finals for May 5, 2013
CBS scheduled two season finales on Sunday night, starting at 8 p.m. with THE AMAZING RACE. The veteran competition series drew 9 million viewers and a 2.4 rating in Adults 18-49. It was the nights #2 program in the important demo ratings. The finale was close, but down, from the season's averages. But, this will be the norm for most series this month.The 90 minute overrun of the NASCAR RACE on FOX delivered good numbers for the 7 -8:30 p.m. slot. Grabbing 8.7 million viewers and a 2.6 rating in the A18-49 ratings, it was the #1 program in the demo a ratings and the #4 program in total viewers. It was also a great lead in for the Animation line up on FOX.
THE MENTALIST season finale was also near its season averages, collecting 9.2 million viewers and a 1.7 demo rating. More than likely, we will not know if this episode was a Season or a Series finale. Most TV experts place the 5 year old drama "On The Fence" with renewal. Personally, This would be the series I would move to Friday nights to get a couple more seasons out of. It will get good ratings for the night, and compliment BLUE BLOODS as a good one-two punch.
RED WIDOW is a series that will not get a renewal by ABC. the freshman drama drew just 3.4 million viewers and a 0.9 demo rating. Its loss from its REVENGE lead in was in the 48% in viewers and a whopping 56% in the demo. ABC has a tough road ahead, with problems on every night and Sunday night may be the night needing the most work.

CBS 9.5 million viewers, 1.9 rating in Adults 18-49.
ABC 5.8 million viewers, 1.6 rating in Adults 18-49.
NBC 4.0 million viewers, 1.2 rating in Adults 18-49.
