Ratings: Broadcast Finals for April 20, 2013
FOX dominates the night in the A18-49 demographic ratings as the UFC ON FOX drew a 1.8 rating. That is close to a 30% increase over the previous week's NASCAR RACE. It is FOX's best demo ratings on the night since the last UFC ON FOX broadcast, three months earlier.
CBS dumped a new episode of VEGAS on the night, since it was preempted on the previous night, for live news coverage. With little promotion, the retro-drama pulled in 4.5 million viewers, about what any encore would pull in for the time slot. If you are a fan of the show, like me, your cable provider may not have updated their TV listings and did not record the episode. You can still watch the episode on line at cbs.com/shows/vegas.
BET ON YOU BABY did see an increase in viewership for week #2. The game show was up over 14% in total viewers from its series premiere. It is still a dog in the ratings, but it is always a positive to see the numbers go up, instead of down. If BOYB has any chance of a second season, it will need to continue to rise in the ratings, and pull in over 3 to 3.5 million viewers before its final episode.
Last, and certainly least, is SMASH. The burn-off continues as it was the lowest ranked program of the night. Just 1.9 million viewers and a 0.4 demo rating. However, SMASH is looking like gold compared to the previous occupant of the time slot, AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR.
