Ratings: Broadcast Finals for April 11, 2013
The networks found that if you aired an original episode on the first Thursday April, the ratings rose for the second Thursday of April. This was true for every program on any network. For FOX, the was a continuation of the rebound in the ratings for AMERICAN IDOL. The results show bounce up 1.5 million viewers and 10% in the A18-49 ratings. Will this be the start of an upward trend or just a blip in the ratings? Stay tuned to nest week's ratings!
Both ABC and CBS were in repeat mode, this week, but THE BIG BANG THEORY power train continued to roll. The encore episode drew just under 11.5 million viewers and a 3.0 demo rating. It beat AMERICAN IDOL during for the 8:00 p.m. half hour. BAZINGA!
For NBC, all their shows saw an increase in one or both of the two measured categories, but the best news it received from the Thursdays ratings was that HANNIBAL did not have a week two drop. The new series drew a few thousand more viewers and was flat in the demo ratings, may be the first new series this season NOT to have a drop in the ratings for the second episode. This could be a first step for the network having a true moderate hit, but that will take time and patients. Right now, It has to be at the top of NBC's 2013-14 renewal list.
