Ratings: Broadcast Finals for March 8, 2013
The FASHION STAR season premiere continued the trend on NBC of horrible premieres and a lower rated night over all.
The second season of the fashion reality series attracted under 3 million viewers and a dismal 0.8 rating in Adults 18-49. That is down near 50% in viewers and 43% in the demo ratings, from last week's DATELINE airing. Those are also similar drops to what FASHION STAR drew for its first season finale, last May. This series never should have been renewed and NBC is now paying the price for it. It may not be long before we see DATELINE back on Friday nights.
GRIMM did return for NBC, but the ratings are not electric. The 4.9 million viewers and 1.5 demo rating is off by 15% in total viewers and a 0.1 demo rating from it's last original episode, on November 16, 2012. The four month layoff did not help the series, but we will see if the numbers can grow over the next two months, into the season finale.
Also disappointing was the Friday airing of CBS' GOLDEN BOY. just a 1.0 demo rating and 7.4 million viewers is not a good sign for the series that will take over the Tuesday 10 p.m. slot from freshman series VEGAS. These ratings are very much like, but slightly lower, the series premiere numbers for MADE IN JERSEY, back in September.
CULT premiered on its new night with the same results as Tuesdays. It lost about 50%, in both measured categories, from its NIKITA lead in. This is on par from what The CW gets from Encores in the time slot.
